‘’The Turkey Runs’’ is a short story by Commonlit describing a family that Turkey runs every year and the youngest kid is going for the first time. A boy that his sister and dad do the races every year and he wants to do good. Because he wants to do good on live TV and not get stuck with the walkers. However he did not know till three days before the race so he could not prepare for the race. So he went for it as a result he got a really bad cramp and had to walkers to the finish and his parents wacked with him.   

One thing that I learned is that you should not just wing it because there will be a conscience. For example in the story he gets a bad cramp and goes to a bad place and it was on live TV. Another thing that I like is that it is not super long but it is not super short it is a good right in between. Also, like how the book is not hard but not easy, also that you can listen to it. This is a great book if you are looking for a good short story.
