Max

Max by Karl Martin describes a boy trying to help a dog that was returning from war that was his brothers. Justin is 13 and his brother just died in Afghanistan. He makes his money off playing video games. Also Charging his friend Chewy for the newest updates that he gets for them. Max is the other main character Max served with Justin's brother in Afghanistan trying to find weapons and he's a German Shepherd. One problem is that Max gets scared and starts barking whenever there's loud sounds. Also is super protective over Justin. Another problem is one of so-called Kyle's friends is actually sneaking in weapons for the people and Afghanistan. So Max finds him and shows the police. Next Max gets trained so he will not bark and can be off leech and be inside the house.

One thing that I like about this book is that they actually show how strong German Shepherds are. How much they do for the Army that people won't even think about. One thing that I wish they did not only  put it in Justin's point of view in the story. I also like how their dad had a whole story. If I was going to rate it out of ten I would rate it a nine out of ten. Because they only explained it from Justin's point of view.
