I survived the Revolutionary war by Lauren Tarshis describes Nate and his challenges. Eleven-year-old Nate is a slave for rich British citizens. How Nate gets over one of his problems is being slaved. How he solved this problem is he ran into the forest. Next, he went to the ship doc and hid in the food to get a way. But when he got there and jumped off the ship, he realized that he was in the middle of the war and the ship already left. Then when he realized that there were no more ships coming he started waking back home. How he solved this problem is he found his 19 year old friend then he started helping the U.S .

One thing that I like is that it has history in it. In the beginning it starts with him sounding like it's going to die. Then it goes to 3 months before and then you get to the same point and it keeps going on. Another thing that I like about this book is that they show you what the weapons look like. If I was going to rate this book I would rate it a 10 out of 10 because it is so detailed.
