Lightning

                   Lightning

Lightning, a short non-fiction story by Stephen Kramer, is about lightning storms and facts about lightning. To begin with, did you know that at least 100 lightning bolts strike on Earth every second and  lightning bolts destroy houses and cities? Do you ever wonder sometimes how hail is made in the thunderstorms? When it starts to rain, the wind blows it back up and the rain goes higher and higher and starts to freeze into ice cubes. Then it falls back down, which creates hail. You must be thinking why doesn't the hail go back up higher? It's because it becomes too heavy for the wind to carry. If the winds are strong, the rain keeps blowing up and going higher and higher. The hail gets bigger the higher it goes.

One of the reasons I love this short non-fiction book is because it explains the scientific facts behind lightning and interesting facts other weather. I thought it was cool learning about electrons, but some ports were kind of boring. Also I love all the pictures in this book because they're all crazy photos that show realistic pictures of lightning. One thing I do not like about this book is the font. It is like they typed it up on a computer. I like things that look like they were written out by hand.
